Job description

De Smet Engineers & Contractors (DSEC) provides the industry with general contracting services as an industrial integrator from project management (EPCM) to full turnkey construction (EPC) via Conceptual Engineering.

DSEC has an established reputation as process integrator, specializing in the agro-industrial fields such as Sugar, Edible Vegetable Oil & Proteins, Biofuels, Bio Based Products & Agro nutrients. To reinforce our project teams we are looking for a Instrumentation Engineer /F with at least 5 years' experience in engineering and/or industry in the field of Industrial Instrumentation for its Electricity & Instrumentation (EIA) department.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of temperature, pressure, level and flow measurement methods
  • Knowledge of different types of control valves and CV calculations
  • Knowledge of the different types of TOR valves
  • Experience with devices from at least one of the following brands: Endress & Hauser, Vega, Emerson, Siemens, ABB, Krohne, Yokogawa, Pepperl & Fuchs, IFM etc.
  • Experience with fieldbuses such as Profibus PA or Foundation Fieldbus or others is welcome.
  • Knowledge and experience in electricity, as well as programmable logic controllers (PLC, DCS, SCADAs) will be an asset.

The Instrumentation Engineer will be able to work as part of a team.

The Instrumentation Engineer will be required to produce documents such as :
o input/output lists
o instrument lists
o technical specifications
o reading and critiquing PIDs
o assembly diagrams
o device layout drawings
o cable lists
The Instrumentation Engineer will also take part in the consultation of suppliers, the comparison of offers, the follow-up of orders and factory acceptance prior to shipment.
In due course, the Instrumentation Engineer will be called upon to take part in the assembly of instruments and valves on site as supervisor, and in the start-up of the plant in question, both in Europe and outside Europe.

Experience

  • A few years of experience in engineering or industry (agro industrial sectors of sugar, vegetable oils, biofuels, agrochemical or biomass)
  • An exposure to the responsibilities described in the “Main tasks and responsibilities” paragraph (above) during at least 2 years

Education:

  • Master in Engineering (Civil works, E&I and automation )

Languages:

  • French (minimum C1)
  • English (minimum C1)


The vehicular language at DSEC is French, but a good knowledge of written and spoken technical English is required.
