Job description

The DSEC Junior Planning & Scheduling Officer will help the project teams to deliver projects on schedule.

He will be trained by the Senior Planning Officer and will be part of the Project Control Team. He will participate in preparing, monitoring, updating, and revising the Project schedule as necessary.

He monitors the accomplishments of the tasks and analyzes its effect on the project schedule.

He will be based in DSEC’s Head Quarter in Belgium and about 10% of its time should be dedicated to audit the construction site progress mainly abroad.

The DSEC Junior Planner Officer does respond directly to the Project Execution Manager and the Technical Director and will work in direct coordination with the Senior Planning Officer and the Project Managers.

The DSEC Junior Planning Officer will be required to perform the following tasks:

Project Scheduling and Monitoring

  • Together with the Senior Planning Officer, prepare based on the standard template and DSEC methodology, on Microsoft Project (mpp), the time schedule
  • Monitor all Construction Site specific time schedule required by the PM and or the Site Manager of the Construction Site.
  • Use the planning progress measurement and scheduling techniques and methods.
  • Issue the three-week and three-months realistic look-ahead schedule.
  • On a two-week base, update the Projects’ Master Schedule (time based and or work accomplished based), analyse the critical path with the Senior Planning Officer
  • Monitor and update accurate schedule progress reports. Maintains records of scope changes, trends, and variances that potentially affect schedule performance.
  • Prepare the input for the Project Progress Report using the DSEC standard tools and including observations and comments, photographs, resource loading and issues concerning the project.
  • Other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.

Responsibilities:

  • Learn how to use the DSEC Tome Schedule tools
  • Monitoring and tracking project progress and writing up reports.
  • Attending at scheduling meetings as required.
  • Communicating with managers, supervisors, and the rest of the team.
  • Ensuring the harmonized Project progress reporting of the various Projects.

Job requirements

  • Degree in Engineering / Project Management / Project Control
  • Strong IT skills ( Office tools, Excel - Power Query – Pivot Table , Access, Power BI,…) and knowledge of advanced Microsoft Excel for data visualization.
  • Experience Professional 1 to 3 years
  • Strong analytical, critical, and logical thinking skills.
  • Structured and clear reporting capabilities
  • Ability to focus under pressure and meet deadlines.
