Senior Product Engineer

De Smet Agro (DSAG) is a subsidiary of De Smet Engineers & Contractors (DSEC), specialized in projects for the agro-nutrients industry. Taking root from over 65 years of experience, we provide the full range of project delivery services, from technical audits and technology solutions to complete EPCM and turnkey delivery to the Fertilizers Industry.

To support its Sales and Process Department in Mont-Saint-Guibert (Belgium), DSAG is looking for a SENIOR PRODUCT ENGINEER.

JOB OVERVIEW

Starting from commercial activities to show the flag, acquire new prospects, attract business and fill the project pipeline, the Senior Product Engineer is involved at all stages of a project from acquisition to delivery, including the chemical process concept definition to the design phases.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify potential clients with a view to creating new business relationships
• Develop a network of partners and prospects
• Ensure full market analysis : comprehensive knowledge of competition and anticipation of market trends
• Elaborate proposal and/or respond to consultations and bids in accordance with company policy
• Identify the challenges and issues relating to projects
• Participate in customer meetings, defend projects
• Prepare block flow diagram, process flow diagrams, heat & mass balances and P&ID’s
• Determine the process specifications of the principal equipment and instruments
• Sizing of process equipment: pumps, tanks, heat exchangers, solids handling…

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in industrial plants audits
• Prepare technical notes and comments
• Review process documents from technology licensors
• Contribute to process innovation
• Take part in or give lectures, participate in industry events

EDUCATION & SKILLS

• Master in Chemical engineering with specific knowledge of inorganic chemistry
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in activities related to the fertilizer processes
• Good knowledge of engineering sequences, process unit operations, thermodynamics, heat transfer
• Involvement in a project for fertilizer industry and/or phosphoric acid / ammonium nitrate field is an asset
• Languages: Fluent English is mandatory, French and other languages are an asset
