Job Title: Construction Superintendent

Location: Zeitz, Germany

Contract Type: Full-time, daily rate

Reporting To: Construction Site Manager

Job Summary:

The Construction Superintendent support the construction manager and its team in the daily activities of the construction.

Her/his duties are:

  • To receive and record all documents from Engineering, Suppliers, Contractors, and classify them in the M file system.
  • To issue all engineering documents to the Contractors and ensure that they are working with the last revision of the documents.
  • Coordinate deliveries of materials and equipment.
  • Upon arrival of equipment at site, ensure that the content is in accordance with the bill of lading, inspect it for damage during transport and unloading, and procure that it is properly handled and stored by the relevant Contractor.
  • Manage and file all the transport and delivery documents for the traceability of each delivered equipment’s.
  • Manage inventories and ensure the availability of necessary resources, equipment and materials.
  • To assist the Construction Manager in the management of the work progress in accordance with the project schedules and the terms and obligations of the construction contracts.
  • To ensure that the quality control procedures are defined, communicated and strictly implemented by the Contractors.
  • Maintain detailed records of quality control activities, including non-conformance reports (NCR), corrective actions, and inspection reports.
  • Monitor and document the progress and quality of work performed by subcontractors and crews
  • To assist in maintaining order and cleanliness on the site.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Degree in construction management, a related field, or equivalent experience
    • All personnel present on site shall be in the possession of a valid safety qualification (SCC, VCA, etc) and any specific qualification related to specializd tasks. This (ese) certificate(s) shall be presented prior to site induction. 
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience
      • in equipment delivery logistic
      • control quality management
      • industrial equipment erection
  • Technical Skills:
    • knowledge of construction techniques and methods.
    • Proficiency in site management software (e.g., MS Office, AutoCAD).
    • Open to learning a document management system (M-files)
    • Strong understanding of quality control procedures and standards.
    • Experience conducting quality audits and inspections.
  • Personal Skills:
    • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
    • Demonstrates strong organization and problem-solving skills
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
    • English & German speaking are mandatory.

Working Conditions:

  • Expected presence on site : 100%.
  • Possibility to travel in vendor workshop for delivery inspection release.
  • Variable hours, including possible overtime and weekends, depending on project needs.
